The first day of the fifth week at CareStack marked the last working day of the month and guess what happened: Yes, we received our paychecks. This was an eagerly awaited moment for many of my colleagues. However, to my surprise, I didn’t feel as excited as I had anticipated upon receiving my paycheck. Nonetheless, this week brought a change in our seating arrangements as we were asked to switch seats from our usual spots. It was a novel experience as I moved around and sat in different places throughout the week.

This week, we had a well-balanced schedule consisting of two technical sessions and three product sessions. The technical sessions were focused on Database Management Systems (DBMS) topics, and after each session, we were given assessments to evaluate our understanding. As the week unfolded with three product sessions, we realized that it marked the end of the product training, making us aware that there might not be any more opportunities for in-depth product training. I realized that I should put effort into understanding the product thoroughly, as I recognize its significance in my journey at CareStack.

After completing the initial book assigned to me, I found myself in need of a new book to read. Unfortunately, there was no one available to exchange books with. However, a colleague recommended the book “Can’t Hurt Me” by David Goggins, and added that it’s one of the two books that had the greatest impact on his life(the other being Atomic Habits). Intrigued, I decided to give it a try and found it truly impactful. Though from the very beginning of the week, I was eagerly waiting for my colleague to finish reading “The Hard Thing About Hard Things” by Ben Horowitz so that I can start reading it. This book has been on my to-read list for quite some time, and I’m really excited to delve into its pages. Towards the end of the week, I finally got my hands on the book.

The upcoming week’s schedule is set as usual, with technical sessions as expected. I noticed that the technical sessions are becoming more challenging, covering topics with which I am not familiar. I am determined to learn them. As the next week approaches, I eagerly anticipate what it holds for me.
